Modern synthesizers, drum machines, and digital production tools do exactly what Temple instruments did—they manipulate frequency, rhythm, and harmonic content to create an encounter with the Divine. The technology changed. The principle didn't.
A 128 BPM kick drum creates the same rhythmic entrainment that frame drums did in Davidic worship. A synth pad generates sustained tones the same way a choir of Levites created vocal drones. A drop builds and releases tension just like the moment when trumpets and cymbals sounded together and "the glory of the Lord filled the temple."
The real question isn't whether EDM belongs in worship.
It's whether we're willing to see that worship has always been about intentional sound design—and that our digital tools are just the modern version of what the ancients already knew.
